Marvel released the new trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming a few days ago, linking Ironman with the Tom Holland led reboot by the looks of it. Just how much Tony Stark and Spidey teamwork action we’ll get will all be figured out when it opens on July 7, 2017. Tom Holland already played the character in a few scenes this year in Captain America: Civil War. It was a promising appearance with Holland capturing a lot of the magic character has shown throughout his comic book life. Soon we’ll get the chance to see if he’s able to carry the franchise forward after several theatrical leads prior.
War For The Planet Of The Apes
Fox also debuted its trailer for War For The Planet Of The Apes, the third entry in the Planet Of The Apes reboot recently. The first movies were fantastic and did great business at the box office. At this point, we can expect our primate hero, Caesar, to really get his Caesar on and do some conquering at the expense of humanity. A big question going into this is how much domination are we really going to get? Opening a week later on July 14, 2017, we’ll get a feel for how many more sequels they can churn out of this story.
It looks like Fox did a lot of showing off. Included in a showcase debuting several movie trailers in their 2017 line up, Collider reported that about 15 minutes of footage from Alien Covenant was screened. Although there is an embargo on their full review of the material, they were allowed to tweet about the film. The tweets gathered by Collider reveal Covenant as being a return to form for the series. They likened it to the original film and its sequel. Both Alien and Aliens are absolute standards within the sci-fi/horror and action genres as far as I’m concerned. Although there may be things to gleam from subsequent entries, they pale in comparison. If you’re like me and find it hard to stay way from spoilers about the film, you may want to check out Alien-Covenant. They’re usually first to post new pics or tidbits about plot as it comes out. Great news all around with the trailers and all. Can’t wait to get my first look at a trailer for this one!
